CHATTANOOGA, TN. (Mar. 30, 2021) This Wednesday afternoon the Park City Red Wolves announced Scott Mackenzie as their new Academy Director. Mackenzie will be building on his current role with the organization, having been named the Head Coach of Park City’s USL League 2 team this past fall.

A well-renowned and credentialed coach, Mackenzie has already been accredited with his USSF A coaching license and UEFA B coaching license. Now, Mackenzie will take the reins of the professionally affiliated academy, ushering in a vision to create one of the truest paths to pro in the country.

“The goal is to develop elite soccer talent and create opportunities for young athletes to forge a career within the beautiful game,” said Mackenzie. 

Building an organizational foundation on the pillars of hard work, self development and community, Mackenzie looks to create a new-look academy system, creating a top tier program here in Utah.

“We want to be recognized as not only the top soccer academy in Utah, but as one of the top talent development centers for soccer in the United States,” said Mackenzie. “Our goal is to change the way elite soccer development is done in this state. We can create opportunities for the young players in Utah that do not currently exist, we want to give them a chance.”

Mackenzie and the Park City Red Wolves Academy will be announcing training programs, staffing and additional information in the near future,

Celis played for the professional team Monterrey Futbol Club in Mexico from the age of 13 to 16.

Additionally, he played in the RSL U17 Academy.

He won the State Cup alongside his team Impact United Soccer Club in Salt Lake, Utah.

Originally from Bozeman, MT, Marshall played at Bozeman High School and for Blitzz FC.

He was the 2014 Montana Gatorade Player of the Year.

He then spent two years of his collegiate career at Cal State Fullerton in the Big West Conference. For the past two years, Marshall played at Westminster College in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Diego began his youth club soccer career with Argentina’s Racing Futbol Club. After moving to Utah, Diego played for La Roca FC, was a ODP Region IV Champion and a USSDA National Champion.

From 2012-2015, Diego played for Real Salt Lake Academy before signing and rostering with University of Maryland from 2015-2016, making 18 appearances while there.

Following his stint with Maryland, he began training with MLS side Real Salt Lake and the clubs USL Championship Real Monarchs.

He also spent time participating in the US National Team Program on U15, U16, U18 and U20 teams.

Jenson was born in Auckland, New Zealand and grew up in Orem, Utah. When he was younger, Jenson played youth soccer for the Utah Rangers and Utah FC ‘97 and won two State Cups. In 2009, he made the ‘96 ODP Region IV Pool.

He graduated high school in 2014 and then went on to join BYU Men’s Soccer team. There he won the 2017 NIRSA National Championship and the 2018 Aztec Cup.

Additionally, Jenson served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Baguio, Philippines from 2015 to 2017.

Hansen is from Cottonwood Heights, Utah. He attended the Salt Lake City Community College for his first year and was awarded NJCAA First Team All-Conference.

He then transferred to Westminster College as a sophomore and was awarded First Team All-Conference once again.

Born and raised in Pleasant View, Utah he attended Weber High School and led the team to a Region Championship.

He was a member of the Region IV ’97 ODP team and also rostered with Sparta United and La Roca FC during his club soccer career.

Caleb initially signed with Utah Valley in 2015 prior to serving an LDS mission in Redlands, California. He currently plays at UVU and made nine appearances in his first season there.

Conner attended Brighton High School and was a member of the men’s soccer program. He served as team captain, garnered team MVP honors and led the Bengals to a state championship during his time there.

Conner played club soccer for Sparta United SC and was a member of Region IV ’97 ODP team.

After serving an LDS mission in Belgium and the Netherlands, Conner has been playing at Utah Valley University.

Alfaro was born in San Ignacio, El Salvador and attended Hunter High School. When he was younger, he played for Utah Soccer Alliance.

Additionally, he represented Utah in the ODP level and made the Region IV team two years in a row.

He continues his soccer career at Westminster College where he was awarded honorable mention All-Conference his freshman year.

David was born and raised in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada and played his youth soccer with Mountain United FC.

David was five-year starter in university (five years of eligibility are granted in Canadian university athletics) and begin his career with Kwantlen Polytechnic University playing in the second tier of Canadian university sports, the CCAA. In his second year with the program, David helped lead KPU to a national ranking of fifth in Canada and a final four berth at Nationals. He would go on to receive KPU athlete of the year.

Hicks transferred to the University of the Fraser Valley, playing in U SPORTS league, the highest level of university sport in Canada. Over his three years with the program, David would be awarded team MVP after the 2017 campaign as well as Academic All-Canadian.

In his senior season Hicks help lead the Cascades to a Canadawest Final Four finish. Despite only playing three of a possible five seasons with UFV, David sits third in program history for both wins and shutouts.

Born in San Sebastian, a little town in the Basque Country, Spain, Gomez began playing soccer when he was 5 years old. He played for Antiguoko K.E., one of the best club teams in the Basque Country where
Xabi Alonso, Aritz Aduritz and many other professional players played in their youth.

He was called to play and practice for the academy Real Sociedad several times since the
age of 8 until 15.

Gomez moved to Utah in 2016 and played for La Roca South for two years. He is currently playing for Salt Lake Community College.

DeBry was born in Chiangmai, Thailand, and lived there for about 12 years before moving to the United States.

He started playing soccer at the age of 5 and has been in love with the game ever since. He attended Cottonwood High School and played varsity soccer for 3 years while simultaneously playing club soccer for Comba FC.

He is currently playing for Utah State University Eastern and recently committed to Eastern Illinois, a Division I program, for the next two years. During his time at Utah State University Eastern, he has tallied 21 goals (school record) and 4 assists. He also received 2017 1st Team All-Region, 2018 2nd Team All-Region and 2017-2018 USU Eastern Men’s Soccer Player of the year.

A native of Congo, Africa, Twishime started his playing career with La Roca FC, before moving his skills to Real Salt Lake Academy.

He then rostered with Air Force Academy before transferring to Salt Lake Community College where he was named All-Region First Team.

Brighton, England

He rostered with and captained LIU C.W. Post men’s soccer team, leading the squad to an East Coast Conference (ECC) Championship.

Originally from Logan, Utah, Guadarrama attended Real Salt Lake Academy for high school. In his earlier years, Guadarrama played with both the La Roca ‘99 and Northern Utah United ‘98 teams.

He is a two-time ODP region team member, and he is also both an ODP National and Region Champion.

Guadarrama currently attends Salt Lake Community College, and was awarded First-Team All-Region during both years of his college career.

Augat spent the majority of his youth career playing for Utah Soccer Alliance (USA). Within that time, he was able to play with the Utah ODP team, and eventually went on to play on the Region IV team two years in a row, making the interregional best XI the second year.

During his high school years, he played in the USSDA with the Portland Timbers Academy, as well as the Real Salt Lake Academy before playing his last year at Sparta United.

After spending two years on an LDS mission in Frankfurt, Germany, he currently plays at Utah Valley University.

Originally from South Sudan, Akok started his playing career with local soccer club Joga FC. He attended Highland High School in Salt Lake City where he played the majority of his high school soccer career.

He then transferred to Salt Lake Community College where he played for two seasons.

His most previous clubs he rostered with before signing for Park City Red Wolves were the Utah Saints and African Stars in the UPSL.

Born in Mar del Plata, Argentina, Rodriguez started playing soccer at Club Deportivo Norte and later moved on to Club Atlético Quilmes.

He spent a season playing abroad in Denmark for AC Horsens U18, right before moving to the United States to play for Florida Southern College.

Tyler was born and raised in Bountiful, Utah playing soccer for Forza FC under Ray Parkhurst and at Viewmont High School. He led the school to a 5A State Championship his junior year, garnering First Team All-State accolades.

During his club career, Tyler was selected to the ODP Region IV team on three different occasions, and helped lead the Utah ODP ’99 boys team to its first-ever National Championship.

After high school Tyler signed for Yavapai College, the most decorated Junior College program in the country, and went on to establish himself as the number one goalkeeper during the team’s run to a Final Four finish in the National Tournament in 2017. Tyler was named to the NJCAA Western United States First Team during the 2017-2018 season.

After his Freshman year at Yavapai, Tyler went on to play for Ogden City SC (PDL) in its inaugural season, posting an .82 save average.

Tyler went back to Yavapai College for his Sophomore year and will now be coming back home to join Utah Valley University’s Men’s Program in the fall.

Chattanooga Red Wolves SC has signed forward Alexi “Alex” Jaimes to its USL League One team, pending league and federation approval.

Jaimes is now the first player in club history to ink a professional deal with Chattanooga Red Wolves SC from the club’s League Two Park City affiliate.

According to Chattanooga Red Wolves SC President and General Manager Sean McDaniel, signing Jaimes represents the importance of a true “path2pro” avenue for young, hungry players.

“Adding Alex’s pace and athleticism to the first team is something we’ve been looking for,” said McDaniel. “He’s a great asset and we’re glad to call him up from our Park City squad as we strengthen our roster.”

Originally from Anaheim, California, Jaimes played his collegiate career at Salt Lake Community College and led his team to an undefeated 2016 season in the South Western Athletic Conference (SWAC), earning him a First-Team All-Region honor.

“I am extremely grateful for this opportunity that I have been given. I want to thank everyone who has helped me through my journey so far,” said Jaimes. “Coach Hankinson has put together an incredible squad, and I’m super excited for this season.”

According to Chattanooga Red Wolves SC Head Coach and Technical Director Tim Hankinson, Jaimes adds pace and raw talent to the roster.

“Alex came into camp with a lot of passion and energy,” said Hankinson. “He has the necessary tools to take his career to the next level and we’re glad he’s a part of the squad. He’s going to make a quality impact to the team.”

Chattanooga Red Wolves SC travels to Tucson, Arizona to face FC Tucson, a club operated by USL Championship side Phoenix Rising FC, on Saturday, May 18. Kickoff is set for 10:30 p.m. EST and available on ESPN+. The team will return home the following weekend to host Greenville Triumph SC at David Stanton Field. The match kicks off at 7:00 p.m. EST.

PARK CITY, Utah (Jan. 25, 2019) — Today, Park City Red Wolves SC unveiled its crest and announced Patrick Rennie as the first ever head coach of its USL League Two team. Rennie brings over two and a half decades of coaching experience with teams in South Africa, England and, for the past 19 years, Utah.

“We carefully interviewed candidates in consideration for the head coaching position for Park City Red Wolves SC,” said Martino. “I have no doubt that with Patrick’s experience, knowledge of the game and our shared understanding of the importance of the “Path 2 Pro” philosophy, he has the ability to build a championship team for our region.”

Rennie, who holds an USSF “A” license, has garnered decorated success at the club level, coaching teams to league, state and regional championships. He has helped place players into college soccer programs, with several players moving on to the professional level. A native of Johannesburg, South Africa, his playing career began representing his native province, eventually becoming a member of the 1992 National Champion Wits University U19 team.

Following his time as a player, Rennie coached programs in South Africa and London for five years. He moved to Utah in 2000 and has coached notable youth teams full-time ever since.

Additionally, from 2008-2010, he assisted in selecting and coaching the Real Salt Lake U19 SUM teams prior to the opening of the RSL Academy in Arizona. In 2010, he was the assistant coach forthe RSL U19 SUM Cup team, who fell just short of the championship, taking a loss on penalty kicks to D.C. United in the final.

“I am very grateful to be named the head coach of Park City Red Wolves SC,” said Rennie. “I am excited to work with our outstanding ownership, staff and community to build something really special here.”

Joining him are four assistant coaches—Liam Heffernan, Daniel Cavar, Sean Angeletti and Martin Garcia Saucedo—all whom have playing experience and coach competitively at the youth club level.

Originally from Northampton, England, Heffernan brings international experience to the staff—as a player and coach. He has played professionally in England for Kettering Town FC and Corby Town FC. Stateside, he spent time with the late San Francisco Bay Seals before moving to Park City and eventually finishing up his career with the former USL Utah Blitz in 2003. Following his player retirement, Heffernan has held coaching stints with USL League Two (formerly PDL), college and youth club teams.

Carvar holds his USSF National “B” license. He has been coaching with Utah Soccer Alliance since 2008 and has been an ODP coach since 2010. Angeletti has been in the coaching scene for nearly 20 years. From the grass roots level to elite competitive travel teams, he has coached youth teams ranking top ten nationally and secured four Desert Premier League (FWRL) titles and five Utah State Cup titles. Saucedo was born in Michoacán, Mexico. He played soccer in his younger years at Cuapa de America, an academy found in Mexico City. He is active in various soccer leagues in the Park City region and has been instrumental in assisting and training players to college and professional careers. 

Tryouts for the League Two team are scheduled for Friday, Feb. 1 and Friday, Feb. 22 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Riverbend Events Center, located at 1085 Winding River Cove W. in Salt Lake City. TAMPA, Fla. – In preparation for the 2019 USL League Two season, the league has announced Park City as its newest member. The Utah-based side becomes the seventh new club to launch ahead of the league’s 25th anniversary.

Park City will compete in the Mountain Division, which currently features Albuquerque Sol FC, Colorado Pride Switchbacks U23 and Ogden City SC.

“We are pleased to have Bob [Martino] and his team join League Two in 2019,” USL League Two Vice President Joel Nash said. “We believe that Park City will be a tremendous addition to the Mountain Division, and will provide a robust product both on and off the field of play.”

Owner Bob Martino has helped spearhead Park City’s League Two ambitions, with the long time Park City resident aiming to bring a club to his hometown. Martino previously unveiled plans for USL League One founding member Chattanooga Red Wolves SC, which will work with USL League Two affiliate Dalton.

Martino has brought a firm commitment to the growth of soccer in the greater Chattanooga area, with a 5,500-seat soccer-specific stadium set to be constructed ahead of the 2020 League One campaign.

“Park City is a very special, aesthetically-inclined city,” Martino said. “The small town produces numerous Winter Olympics athletes and has always been a great soccer city. Top-level soccer players have come from Park City, and we are proud to be part of elevating the soccer experience with the “Path2Pro” philosophy in the community.”

The club will announce its logo, color scheme and further branding at a later date. Stay tuned for more details regarding the club’s introduction into League Two.

With its introduction ahead of the 2019 League Two season, Dalton joins previously announced Cedar Stars Rush, Dalton, Discoveries SC, Florida Elite Soccer Academy, Green Bay and Wake FC.
