Chip Scott will lead the charge on executing the vision for the professional stadium for Chattanooga Red Wolves SC. The club will reveal the location of the new professional stadium in the near future. Early steps in planning include the hiring of Scott, who will serve as project manager for the new stadium and immediately begin work on the training complex at Camp Jordan.
“Our vision is to create an exceptional professional soccer experience for the community, and Scott has the expertise to develop that through our new stadium,” said Bob Martino, team owner. “The stadium will offer our players and fans an intimate setting to engage with the action, and I know we’ve hired the right person with considerable experience in overseeing construction of large-scale entertainment facilities. The stadium will have a significant economic impact on the area, and we looked for an expert able to manage a project of this magnitude.”
Scott’s background includes leading and coordinating arts and music festivals and sporting events as well as overseeing construction of performance venues and event centers. In his most recent role, Scott was responsible for leading the plans to build a $62-million multi-use auditorium from the ground up in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Prior to that, Scott oversaw all aspects of construction of a Cirque-style performance venue in Seattle. Within the sports industry, Scott assisted in coordinating the Seattle Sounders MLS Cup Victory Parade in Seattle in 2017 and was responsible for pre and post-race production of NASCAR Kansas Speedway events for a couple of years.
Scott’s expertise in event management and production has taken him all over the United States from stints as a parks and recreation event superintendent in Colorado to booking and marketing for a sports and events coliseum in North Carolina, but he’s also familiar with Chattanooga and Tennessee. He helped produce the CMA Music Festival at Nissan Stadium in Nashville in 2010, and the year prior, he assisted in operations for the 4 Bridges Arts Festival in Chattanooga.
A Baylor graduate, Scott holds a bachelor’s degree in recreation from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and a master’s in educational leadership from Radford University in Virginia.
Scott will begin work right away in mapping out the plan for construction of the Chattanooga Red Wolves professional stadium, while also overseeing buildout of the multi-use training center at Camp Jordan. The team is expected to begin play at the new facility in 2020.
