
Colombian Striker Cements Himself in the History Books
Chattanooga, TN. (June 30, 2022) – Quickly a cult favorite throughout his first year with the Red Wolves, Juan Galindrez has written himself into the club’s record books with his 17 goals scored in USL League One making him the all-time leading goalscorer in the history of the Chattanooga Red Wolves and highest scoring Colombian in USL League One history. Galindrez joined the club for the 2021 season and made a total of 29 appearances for the club, scoring 11 goals in the league as the club’s leading goalscorer.
One of the spearheads for the Cardiac Red Wolves side that became known for its knack to score late goals, ‘Galigol’ Galindrez was an instrumental part in the club’s first ever playoff run and scored the winning goal to lead the Red Wolves past North Texas SC for the club’s first ever win in the USL League One playoffs. He has continued to produce in the 2022 season, with his hat-trick against the Charlotte Independence – the first ever for the club at CHI Memorial Stadium.
Manager Jimmy Obleda spoke to the importance of Juan Galindrez following his re-signing for the 2022 season saying, “Galindrez brings goals, he brings goals to the team. He brought the goals that were significant this last year and allowed us to be where we finished the season. He’s a guy that’s very exciting, athletic, strong, and dynamic for his positioning. He’s very good inside the box.”
Galindrez has been invaluable since joining the Red Wolves for the 2021 season, and is currently the league’s second leading goalscorer for the 2022 season. His work rate and clinical finishing will continue to be a key piece of the club’s hopes of lifting the 2022 USL League One Title as he further cements himself in both the lore and record books of the Chattanooga Red Wolves.
