The Chattanooga Red Wolves have signed former Park City Red Wolves forward Omar Gomez for the remainder of the 2023 season, pending league and federation approval.
Gomez joins the Chattanooga Red Wolves after beginning the USL League Two season with the Park City Red Wolves where he started and scored in both of his appearances, ultimately contributing a match-tying goal and match-winning goal to maintain Park City’s undefeated season. Gomez will become the fifth player to sign a professional contract with the first team from the Park City Red Wolves who have placed seven players into the professional ranks including USL League One and MLS.
“Omar’s signing continues building on the overall player development strategy of the Chattanooga Red Wolves,” says General Manager Sean McDaniel. “He comes to us by way of our USL League 2 team in Park City and clearly demonstrates the ability to move into the next level. We expect Omar to make an immediate impact in the first team.”
Omar previously played for the Colorado Rapids MLS NextPro team in 2022, registering 21 appearances and two assists after playing in the Rapids Academy in his youth. He then attended Salt Lake Community College, where he was named NJCAA Region MVP and won a national title before returning to the Rapids’ second team.
“I’m excited to get started and play here with the Red Wolves,” shares Gomez. “I’m grateful for this opportunity and ready to create great memories with the club and fans here.”
