Chattanooga Red Wolves goalkeeper Ricardo Jerez has been called up to the Guatemalan National Team for the Concacaf Nations League. Guatemala will have two matches, one against Belize on March 24 and French Guiana on March 27.
A former captain of the National Team, Jerez started 8 of the 12 games that Guatemala played last year, to become Guatemalan coach Luis Fernando Tena’s favorite to defend the goal of the Blue and White.
Club President and General Manager Sean McDaniel said ‘We knew we were getting a high level, experienced goalkeeper when we signed Ricardo. We also knew he would be in strong demand for his country. Building a roster with players having significant National team experience demonstrates how invested the Red Wolves are in securing top National team talent. We are pleased with Ricardo’s recent call up and wish him great success representing Guatemala.’
The CONCACAF Nations League is an international association football competition contested by the senior men’s national teams of the member associations of CONCACAF, the regional governing body of North America.
