Chattanooga, TN — [12/20/25] — The Chattanooga Red Wolves are excited to announce Danny McBride as the new Chattanooga Lady Red Wolves Head Coach.
Danny has coached within the Chattanooga Red Wolves Academy since its inception in 2019. Over that time, he has worked with a variety of girls’ teams, most recently leading the 2007/08 Girls. During his tenure with the 2008 Girls, Danny has guided the team to two Tennessee State Championships, a USYS Southern Regional Championship, and back-to-back Final Four appearances at the USYS National Championships. These accomplishments recently earned him recognition as the Tennessee State Soccer Association Girls Coach of the Year. Danny’s step into the USL W as the head coach of the Chattanooga Lady Red Wolves will allow him to continue coaching USL W players who are currently standout talents from his 2007/08 Academy team, including Emily Betterton, Kyla Kruchinski, Hannah Montgomery, Zoe Misenhimer, and Reese Rowlett. In 2025, the Chattanooga Lady Red Wolves featured eight current academy players on the roster, who collectively earned 28 starts and made 28 substitute appearances across 11 USL W matches.
Academy Sporting Director, and former Lady Red Wolves head coach, Luke Winter, said, “Danny will bring new energy and life to the Lady Red Wolves. He has a genuine care for his players—not only for their immediate performance and competitiveness in games, but also for the long-term direction of their careers and the ways he can help them reach goals. I am extremely excited about this appointment for Danny, for the players, and for the club, and I have no doubt he will continue moving the program forward.”
New Coach, Danny McBride: “I’m really thankful to the Red Wolves organization for the opportunity to lead our USLW team this coming summer. I am looking forward to the new challenge and committed to bringing pride to the club while developing individual players, playing an exciting brand of football for the fans, and leading the team to success. I am passionate about the growth of the women’s game in this area and hope the community will get behind us this summer.
Red Wolves Technical Director, Scott Mackenzie, also shared his thoughts, “We are thrilled to have Danny leading our USLW team in 2026. A first-class coach and a long-standing, positive member of our community, Danny brings the leadership and values that align perfectly with our club. We are confident his guidance will be critical as we push toward a conference title in the upcoming season”.
